What is Subcision and how does it work?

Subcision is a minor surgical procedure used for treating depressed scars and wrinkles. A small needle/cannula is inserted into the skin to break the fibrotic strands or fibres tethering the scar down, in order to release the scar from underlying tissue. The release of new collagen deposition triggered by wound healing leads to cosmetic improvement of the scars and wrinkles.

At Evoque Medical Aesthetics, we offer two options of Subcision.

i. Radiofrequency Cannula Subcision (SecretTM DUO)

Subcision technique combined with Radiofrequency energy from the Secret DUO machine.  The added radiofrequency current helps to break down stubborn, tethered down scars or deep wrinkles.

ii. Device-assisted Subcision

Subcision technique inspired by Korea, which uses air infused under the skin to free up the tethered down scar. This method is typically less painful with less downtime.

What to expect during the treatment process?

A topical anaesthetic cream will be applied prior to treatment, to make the session more comfortable.
